Vincent became a Graduate Gemologist in 1983 from the Gemological Institute of America.  He received his formal education in appraisal science in 1990 through the International Society of Appraisers.  Vincent’s gemological lab at Desert Gem allows him to correctly identify stones and metals, as well as assign value to the jewelry piece for appraisal purposes.

There are several types of appraisals, and knowing which type to obtain is critical.

  • Insurance - The most prevalent type of report, generally assigned with a retail replacement value new.

  • Fair Market Value - The second most requested report that, in general, generates  a legal jurisdictional defined value.   Usually referred through a Local, State or Federal agency.

  • Market Value -  generally requested when absent Fair Market Value.

  • Other assigned value reports are offered.
